• Smith College, B.A.; currently pursuing a hybrid and part-time M.Ed. in International School Counseling from Lehigh University

I believe that deciding where to attend university requires curiosity and an open mind for self-discovery. As a counselor, I strive to make my students’ university application process a stimulating and satisfying reflective process involving examining their personal values and life goals. I am very committed and available to my students throughout their life-shaping search for their chosen higher education opportunity. 

My 12-year career in university admission has followed my personal interest in international education.  I currently live in Singapore and work as University Counselor at one of Singapore’s top international schools.

I have been involved with international university admission since, at age 16, I attended the United World College in Victoria, Canada. Then, seeking broader education opportunities, I applied to several colleges and universities outside my home country, Paraguay. I chose to attend Smith College, a top-ranked liberal arts college in Northampton MA. I majored in Cultural Anthropology and found the rewarding intellectual and social stimulation that I craved.  Since then, my life work has focused on offering similar opportunities and experiences for international education to young people from all over the world.

I now have over a dozen years of experience in international university/college admission counseling. I am also currently a Principal Examiner for the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).  I have taught Theory of Knowledge and Social and Cultural Anthropology for the IBO, as well as counseled regarding university admission. I have extensive experience working with international students from all over the globe, including students from the US, Canada and UK who are interested in pursuing their higher education in or out of their native country.

I recently spent a year as University Counselor at an international school in Switzerland, and prior to that, I spent 7 years as a University Counselor at the United World College in The Netherlands. I’ve visited every single research university in that country, and dozens of universities all over Europe and the US. Before that, I was a College Counselor at the UWC in Costa Rica, supporting students from over 100 countries applying to 20 different country systems. 

Because I personally love travel and cross-cultural learning, I have lived in 9 different countries. I am particularly interested in working with international students, expats, and third culture kids (TCKs).  I am also very interested in working with students who are open to exploring university options beyond typical destinations such as the US, Canada and the UK.
