Our Services

We accept a limited number of client families so that we are accessible and available to provide them with expert information, experience, guidance and support. While we focus on our students, we warmly welcome communications with their parents or guardians.

Your student will work with one personal counselor. Our counselors also meet regularly as a team to pool our collective experience of the admissions process, while adhering to strict professional standards of confidentiality and discretion.

In advising students and their families, we draw on our backgrounds and extensive experience in both college admission and high school college counseling offices. Our work is informed by decades of experience supporting students, understanding admissions, and working with families as they navigate the admission landscape. We supplement our own research on college and university campuses and programs by regularly attending webinars, visiting campuses, and participating in associations of independent counselors to ensure that the information we share with students and families is up-to-date and accurate. We use online platforms – College Planner Pro and College Kickstart – to support our students, and most meetings take place virtually, on a platform such as Zoom.

Our specific services include:

College and University Admission Counseling – Whether students begin working with their counselor in 9th grade or in the early fall of senior year, our counselors work with students to understand their interests, motivations, and aspirations. We support students in every aspect of the admission process from researching schools and writing essays to making a decision among the options offering admission. Our college admission counseling packages are either for a set number of hours or comprehensive, including an inclusive package for students who come to us in the summer before their senior year of high school. Whether students would like help with a single aspect of their application (like their Common Application essay) or support through every aspect of their process, their counselor will work to understand their interests and passions, and support students throughout their college admission journey. College Goals counselors cannot guarantee admission to any university or program.

Boarding and Day Secondary School Admission Counseling – Some students are looking for another option for the high school years. Our experienced secondary school admission counselor has been supporting students and families for decades, as they navigate the complicated world of secondary school admissions. We work with students to understand the scope of their options, to represent themselves well in their interviews, and to submit essays that strengthen their candidacy. Working with our secondary school admission counselor gives students and their families the support and peace of mind they need to navigate the transition, whether directly from 8th to 9th grade or as a mid-high school transfer applicant. Students can work with our secondary school counselor for a set number of hours or as a comprehensive package. College Goals counselors cannot guarantee admission to any secondary school or program.

Educational Counseling for students aged 12-15 – While students between ages 12-15 are not quite ready to begin a college process in earnest, they sometimes have questions that require some expert guidance and support. Through our Education Counseling option, our counselors will work with students to select and apply for well-chosen summer programs, to consider extracurricular opportunities, and to choose high school courses to further define their interests. Educational Counseling puts students on a path to success. Working with a College Goals counselor to provide Educational Counseling for a younger student can provide some peace of mind for families as students consider their passions and paths through high school and beyond. The Educational Counseling package is a set number of hours (can be renewed) and provides the same mentorship and support our counselors provide for students seeking admission.

We quickly realized that the process especially for students attending high schools outside of the United States was too complex to manage without support. Thank you for being that support for us!

Germany

This has made me confident in my choices and therefore, more active and assertive in the demanding college application process. You have been, for me, a pillar of support and guidance.

Paris, France

The two of them built a relationship through emails and Zoom, and when they did eventually meet in person they were like old friends!
