I’ve had the privilege of working with students and families across independent schools and colleges throughout my career, helping them navigate everything from boarding school applications to college choices. My background gives me deep insight into what makes each student unique and how to align their strengths with the right opportunities.

Approach to Counseling

I believe that admissions counseling is about helping students discover their sense of independence while maintaining a close connection with their families. My goal is to empower students to see themselves not only as applicants but as individuals preparing for the next chapter of life. I guide students in exploring school communities and cultures where they can thrive academically and personally, building lifelong confidence along the way.

Areas of Expertise

  • Secondary school and college selection.
  • Support for students with learning differences.
  • Guidance on gap year and experiential learning programs.
  • Helping families manage the admissions process with clarity and ease.

Personal Touch

Having raised three adventurous sons, I understand the joys and challenges of navigating educational journeys. Two of my sons pursued gap years and explored boatbuilding, and all three have traveled independently across the globe—from Jordan to Costa Rica. These experiences have shaped my appreciation for celebrating the unique gifts of every student I work with.

When I’m not working with students, I enjoy running marathons, cooking, and creating new recipes. My husband and I live in Virginia, where he serves as President of Hargrave Military School. We also maintain a home in North Carolina, where we spent several happy years raising our family.
